Where does the time go? I can hardly believe that we are shooting again on Monday.

I have kept the dogs fit by taking them riding with me but honestly, I haven't had the whistle out since February

Here's hoping that they behave themselves and remember what the whistle means! Actually I might take the whistle and a few dummies out to the field tomorrow for a quick crash course - just remind them of direction etc!

Would you believe that it has rained everyday for months on end here but the last few days have been really sunny, and I just cannot believe that I am actually wishing that it is not too sunny on Monday - poor old Toby (being black) will suffer.

Got to get the dog cage out of the garage, pack the dog's bag with towels, coats, whistle etc, get my breeks washed - arghhhhh

Otto got his first dummy at a the Game Fair today, and a rabbit skin to cover it in, he seems interested in it so here's hoping we can do a bit of training with it

And my Daddy gave me a shiny thumbstick he made me, so we are almost set

Just got to go out a few days on my own first and then I may allow Otto to tag along

How exciting! I'm not surprised you can't wait

We did a bit of pigeon shooting over the summer, but haven't shot the past couple of weeks as we are trying to get our southern permit sorted.

Hoping to go partridge shooting in Dunloy

Never been to a partridge shoot before!

Daughter and I took the dogs for a bit of training this evening. We did loads of stop and recall whistle, left, rights and go backs with the dummies, blinds etc and they were both brilliant - can't believe it! (although the Go Back took a little bit of practise!)

Mind you, doesn't mean they will be good tomorrow - they might lose their heads on the first drive!

My dog cage is knackered - I had to take them for a drive in it to see if it would crash down on top of them

I really must get a new one!

ahhhhh i'm so excited!!!! Our first day is the 2nd Oct, we're not having partridge only days this year, we're mixing with pheasants.

Kensa has been on her crash refersher course for the last 2 weeks, and i'm pleased to say she's bright as a button and sharper than ever
