Waiting for friend to advertise our horse!

We have had our homebred horse with a friend of ours since may to start his dressage career then sell him. We can't really afford to keep him there much longer and need to advertise him! He was supposed to go in h&h 3 weeks ago. She says he is going on horsequest this week but haven't seen anything yet! Do you think I ought to put advert in? The only problem is we showjump and I have no knowledge of dressage to know what to put in advert and have no pics of him doing dressage! Don't want to pee of friend. What shall we do?

I would talk to your friend first and see what she is up to.

Explain that you want sold and with summer soon comming to an end - i would do this asap.

What imput have you had - do you ride the horse and how far along his carerr or schooling is the horse?

Is the horse just in for schooling - cos your (friend) may just be taking your schooling/livery money and be happy with that - in which case you need to get advertising.

You need to go & speak to your friend & tell her that you need the horse advertised & sold asap. Draft out an advert with her & put on Horsemart/H&H etc. The longer you leave it the more livery you will be paying until it is sold.

There will be alot of horses coming up for sale in the next month or so due to people wanting them sold rathert than pay winter livery. This tends to drive prices down a little. At this time of year.....Sept, Nov, Dec it's more a buyers market so get your horse advertised quickly. Good Luck

I would also draft up the details and ask if it would be ok to sit with your friend and help her add it to the internet, just so you can see how it works and how it looks online. Play dumb and say you would like to see it added so you know how to do it in the future.
Mention due to winter coming in you really need to get the ad on there and when is best to come over and help her.
