Waiting for the vet for my 2yr old Forester, I got him last year and was told he was a gelding and saw nothing to the contrary only now there's definitely something there :-/. Trouble is I can only feel one :(. I don't know if he's retained one, had only one removed before or its there and I just can't find it. I'm hoping it's one of the latter and am keeping my fingers crossed.

Well vets been and there's definitely only one there :( . He's advised waiting a bit longer and letting him get a whiff of a mare under controlled circumstances to try to 'encourage' it to drop and if that fails it'll have to be an op. Does anyone know if insurance covers things like this? I

Sorry to hear about your 'gelding'! The insurance company definitely won't pay for him to be gelded, but will usually pay if any complications arise from the surgery.

Where did you buy him from? If he hasn't been done, or hasn't been done properly then you should probably contact his previous owners and see what they have to say about it!

I didn't think the insurance would cover it and having checked my policy when I got home it confirmed it :(. I brought him for a pound last April from a lady who offered him to me for free, she'd got him from a sale a couple of weeks earlier (I saw him advertised in the catalogue as a gelding). It's taken a fair while even for one to drop. Oh well have to give it a bit longer and hope the other makes an appearance
