Why is it horses always manage to damage themselves when you are aiming for something??! Nothing life-threatening, but I hate waiting for vets to call!
As some may know my horse has had very minor nosebleeds on occassion, she was 'scoped in September last year and hasn't bled since. The vet wanted to know if she bled again as she wanted to re-'scope to confirm the diagnosis.
On Saturday she managed to whack the right side of her nose against the stable door frame, but it didn't bother her at all. I took her out for a longer ride than usual yesterday, and within half an hour of coming home she was trickling blood from her nose again, but this time from the right nostril (usually left side). It carried on for a couple of hours, longer than normal, then she was fine that night, fine this morning, and I got her in from the field at 1pm to find her bleeding again! It's never lasted this long before, hence I've called the vet and am now waiting to see if she wants me to get Maiden over to the surgery to 'scope her again this afternoon/ tomorrow.
There's another £100 gone! And I spent ages over my Xmas holiday planning out when I was going to ride and how I was going to get her fit for RC camp in April! Now I reckon we'll be back to another month of walking and trotting.
Darnit, they always hurt themselves when you actually want to ride them!
Anyway I hope everyone else's NY is going well!
