I'd like the get a synthetic. I'm just looking for something lightweight and a good price. I've heard such mixed reviews about Wintecs that I'm inclined to stay away and I like the look of Thorowgoods but would like something a bit cheaper.
I'm not really a fan of the suede knee patches/seat look so when I came across this waldhausen http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/371546211...48&var=640569032389&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT I really liked the look of it. Does anyone have any experience with them?
Also any other brand recommendations?
Thanks :)

I've not heard of the brand & would be wary myself. Maybe I'm OTT, but I feel my horse only has one back & I wouldn't want to risk it by putting a cheap but potentially badly made/designed saddle on it.

its a common brand in germany but not here. worth buying things like saddle cloths and rugs from them as they are cheap but you are better getting saddles that you know the fit of

Almost certainly Indian, don't touch with a bargepole if so, it has something of the look about it, and at that price it is too good to be true. Horses and their kit are expensive, there are plenty of used Thorowgoods around but all these saddles fit differently, get a good fitter out even if just to tell you what to buy, but do brief them that that is what you need them for.

Thanks for all the replies. I was wary at the price but thought it could just be because synthetics are cheaper to produce, but good to know that I should probably stay away! I'll start looking for a saddler who might fit second hand thorowgoods!
