will hopefully see you somewhere then as I'm currently deciding which to go to!

And also considering whether I am too old for Llangeinors Halloween show...

Bit chilly for that I think. Although maybe the whole "leave him out without a rug to freeze some weight off him" approach works with humans as well - I could do with that!

Just a thought on what Muffinino said about being undecided on where to go. I'm pretty familiar with both Alps and Sunnybank if anybody wants advice on which one would suit you best!

Well Ed is a seasoned hunter will jump anything - I have been round SB a few times but not Alps. We prefer solid chunky fences rather than technical fences and we dont like trakehners!!!

Alps more sloping than SB so more uphill and downhill jumps. Most fences are pretty straightforward. I assume you are doing the open - 3'6"? A lot of the fences are moveable at Alps so I don't know how they'll have them set up. They often have a double of skinny roll top type fences on the turn or they'll have one then a turn to an uphill fence with the second roll top in a straight line after that, which is about as technical as they get. Unlike Sunnybank where pretty much all the fences are used most of the time, Alps has a lot more fences so different fences and courses are used for different comps so it's hard to be sure what'll be in there.

Of the permanent fences, the vast majroity aren't particularly technical. There's a down hill angled double which I've never done but looks to ride nicely as long as you get the line right (I only do the 2'9" so only have to do the first one!) and a corner fence which again I've never jumped but rides a lot better than it looks according to my friends! All the others tend to be big and solid. The water is more solidly built than SB's and should be ok with all the rain we've had. (it can be a bit murky if there's not much rain as it grows algae). There's one trakhener (but it doesn't always get used) and a coffin.

I prefer Alps, even though I'm more familiar with it than SB, I find SB a bit boring as it's always the same, you either do it one way round or the other, whereas the Alps course changes for every competition.

I've ridden both but thanks for the offer

It's really down to the person who's taking me, tbh, but I'm not bothered either way as both have their pros and cons. We'll she what she fancies on the day

I've had 5 months off tack cleaning, it's all gone mouldy though so will have to start now he's hopefully back in action!
