Well Mickey and I have been offered a lift to Manor Farm to do a Walk and Trot Dressage test next month, which i have to admit im getting nervous about already. It will be the 1st time out being ridden and only the 2nd outing he's ever had.
Basically ive never ridden a dressage test and not 100% sure what to expect!
Ive got the test and know ive got to learn it!! Good Start!!
Mickey has brown tack and wears a snaffle bit anyway...
Can i hold a whip?
Can i wear spurs?
I havent got any long boots only brown Jodpur boots is this acceptable or do i need to go and buy some long boots?
I havent got a black jacket only a hacking jacket - can i wear this with my jod boots or should i borrow a black one?
What colour tie?!

Sorry for all the questions...

Thank You

xx

Whip Yes
Spurs Yes
Jodpur boots- How old are you? If under 16 this is fine if not just get some gaiters!
Hacking jacket and tie is fine as well!

27!! best i invest in some gaitors or boots then, thought that might be the case!

I can imagine my cheeky cob will either stop and poo and not move, or roll (yes with me on - has been known) or simply walk backwards! glad my instructor will be there!!!

You'l be fine, dont worry you'll find it easier than you think, in fact I bet you will be wondering what you were worriying but when you get home, good luck and have fun!

Maybe check with the organisers re dress code, ours run the walk & trot test as a Have -a go so you don't need to be fully kitted up, your jod boots and hacking jacket should be fine if that's the case. Good luck. If you think your nerves might get the better of you arrange for someone to call your test for you.
