There is a W&T test at my local riding school next month.

Due to the snow / other issues this will be our first comp since November. It will also be the first time I have hacked my pony alone to this venue (He is good to hack, but can be a bit nappy) and in April the 'proper' dressage series starts which I want to do.

There is a novice and an open class. We did this same show last year (open class) when we were still starting out at dressage and came 3rd. Since then we have progressed quite a bit and we won our last prelim.

Would it be wrong to enter? Should I enter HC? I just thought it would be good to have a go to get him back into competing and to see the venue again / hack there. Its a 4 mile hack crossing a busy road so I want to get him relaxed about that, and a train line runs underneath the sandschool - so want to remind him of that also!! We'll be going back 3 weeks later to do prelim and then hopefully the time after novice tests. I don't want to be that person everyone hates entering a class they should not be in. But I also don't want to look silly entering as HC in an open class where there are no restrictions anyway - and for people to think I think I am some expert dressage rider! (when I'm clearly not!)

I asked at the riding school today, and she said anyone could enter the open class - so maybe people just do it as a warm up? There are no other W&T's for the rest of the year.

Decisions, decisions!!

Enter it.. W&T tests would be unaffiliated anyway so go for. Im going to do one with my horses shortly (causes shes mental and cantering is not a good point!!!) and its just a better option than killin a judge!! lmao! Go for it its all a bit of experience!!!
