Doing first ever BE event next month, just wondered whether most people adivsed walking the cross country course the day before the comp, or on the day.
The event is about an hour away. In the past (at unnafiliated and PC ODEs) I've always walked the xc course the day before, but as I know the venue well I don't know whether to bother.
What do you guys like to do?

Depends on time I get to be honest!! If am going on my own, will walk the day before normally, because my horse cannot be trusted on his own!! But if have plenty of time on the day, do it on the day

If you can get there the day before do it ,but be careful you check they have not changed anything . It can be stressful to have to rush and you don't always get time in between. See what your times are first and then decide

Would do what u alsways do!!!
But if time allows walk it on the day, saves so much time and stops u gettin bored if u've got a long wait.

Yeah, depends on times really. If local, I usually walk the day before but then I tend to over-think the course all night! Id prefer to do it on the day, but only if you dont have early times or have a big gap in between things.

In Driving you have loads to remeber, 8 obstacles with 'gates lettered up to F so for each one you need to know you route exactly as you get eliminated if you pass through the wrong gate or one backwards. So I walk it once on the thursday night, and make diagrams. Once friday morning, and again afternoon and another just before dark. That way I know it by Saturday morning when I fit in a last 2 walks.

If I were doing ridden TBH unless it was very technical I'd walk it on the day.

I would generally do what you always do - if it has worked before why change?! But - I tend to walk the day before, then if time allows walk on the day as well. the problem with leaving till the day is if anything does happen to go wrong and you run out of time - you are well and truly stuffed!
