Hello again everyone! My horse seems to develop new things to scare me with every other week at the moment!
So he's on box rest at the moment, this is his 4th week out of 8. He had arthroscopic surgery on his knee where he has trauma arthritic and after nerve blocks and MRI scans and X-Rays it was found he was showing very early signs of navicular, which is causing him capsular foot pain and is the actual cause for his lameness when schooling.
Vet advised lightweight shoes with some sort of padding to cushion his feet.
He's been having 5 min walks twice a day, as advised by the vet to help keep his natural movement while on rest. He has had a few hissy fits where he's reared and once where he got very spooked by some school children and he started to passage around the yard for a few seconds.
2 days later I noticed he seemed to be walking a bit strange. The next day he was fine to start with then about a min in he changed. The only way I can describe it is he can't/won't walk his bad leg past his good leg. He'll step it to it but it's like he's lost the ability to extend it in front.
He lifts his knees and is weight baring on all 4 limbs. I am wondering if it could be muscular and if it could be his shoulder.
Anyone have any ideas?
I am waiting on a return call from his vet
Thanks
