I think if they're your own dogs you can do as you like, but if you're being paid to do it some councils have a limit of 4 per person? I know my dog boarder had to take someone with her last week as she had 6 to take out :)

I think our council has brought in a dog control order which limits the amount of dogs an individual can walk, there is a sign on a lamppost we pass but i can't remember how many dogs it is. So perhaps have a look on the local councils website to see if they've done similar and where it applies to?

Check the dog control orders for the area. I can vary from 4 to six dogs and, stupidly, it won't differentiate between small and large or trained & untrained dogs.
So someone could be ok if dragged by five huge mastiff crosses but committing an offence by having seven chihuahuas at heel.

Ha ha:eek: I have taken 12 dogs over my local field at one time:D:D I should have been arrested:D my usual number would be 10 and sometimes it's me and OH but othertimes we have to walk them alone.

I can't believe a council have any powers over how many dogs are walked together? If they have. then what are they going to do if your breaking their rules ?

It varies by council, lots of councils here operate a four dogs per person rule.

As S4S says, councils have the power to fine and take to court on a range of issues including dogs which stray or attack etc, through the dog warden. Littering, drinking in public, noise nuisance are all council matters.
