Walking on a lunge line - an update....

Hmmmm, not sure what to do now? As I rather thought might happen, when I walk Islay on a lunge line she doesnt display any of the behaviour she does when she is let off the lead

As far as she is concerned, she is on the lead - so she doesnt go far ahead, responds instantly when I call her, etc

Any thoughts please?

I found that with my demon westie

She wouldnt even run off and I just got tangled in the lunge line

Yep we had a lot of getting tangled up - me more than her usually

Also depending where you are - the line gets caught up in bushes, trees etc

I was doing recall training with the wee GSD who's owner I am helping last week, she saw another dog, zoned out, I said to the owner 'call her' and was about to give her a pop on the check chain with the lunge line and I dropped the bloody thing.

Cue Bo running towards collie on beach, followed by me at top speed, followed by her owner.
Thankfully Bo is just over-friendly, not boisterous, so I spent another five minutes trying to catch her after she began a super fun game with the collie, who luckily, I also know, and his owner, phew
