Wall Eye - a few questions :)

hi,
i'm trying to help a former livery out. Basically they have a mare with 1 wall eye, she has been on loan to a riding school for a few months now but they have had a call to say that they can no longer keep her as she has a wall eye and it seems that whoever governs them has said they cannot have a horse with a wall eye as it wont be safe to hack out.....
(the owner isnt very experienced as it was her sons mare hence she may have got part of the above reason wrong?)

Anyway - has anyone had experience of horses with wall eyes NOT being allowed in riding schools?

is there any scientific research to back up that a wall eye causes visual problems?

any other thoughts?

Seems ridiculous, I had a cremello with 2 wall eyes, he never had any problems, what is their reasoning ? why won't it be safe to hack out?
 
very odd! I think she is either mixed up or making an excuse.

I know of several horses with wall eyes in riding schools. The place I rode at as a child had a cremello with two wall eyes, and an albino horse. The place I ride at now which is a BHS where to train centre has at least two horses with wall eyes at the moment, and has had others in the past. These are really useful coloured cobs who do EVERYTHING. Neither have ever shown any suggestion of having sight problems.
 
I have a mare with one half brown, half blue eye

That sounds ridiculous to me, I've never heard of a RS not allowing horses with wall eyes before. What could they base that on? It's just a lack of pigment, there's no evidence to suggest they are in any way weaker or more prone to problems

this is what i have also said to the owner, i feel it's an excuse but i dont know why not just say whatever the real reason is?
I just wanted to check however incase there was any new research/ruling for rising schools.

The centre she is at is both ABRS and BHS.
