Does anyone know who make extra wide, long leather boots.

I need a 17" calf and 17" long, the very few I can find wide enough are too short

Seems manufacturers think you can only have short, fat legs not long, fat legs like mine!!

At the moment I have to ride in Treadstep Gaiters as they seem to be the only people to realise this.

Alternatively, does anyone know of a company that does made to measure?

Many thanks

Im currently in Mountain horse high caliber regular calf as the wide werent long enough! and although they fit comfortably the stretchy bit is .... well stretched. I also have Petrie zip ups which are quite reasonable and come in loads of different calf and leg sizes. TDS saddlers did sell these, may be worth having look. I did have Regent pull ons but they ended up too wide. I find zip ones so much better as I used to have a strop trying to get the damn pull on ones on and always ended up with no feeling in my feet!

I have the same problem as you, your legs are the same size as mine, i have a pair of moutain horse high calibra ,wide, and they fit nicely if i'm having a fat day there a little tight but not uncomfortable, but the rest of the time there lovely,

My daughter has long legs and wide calfs and found Eqitector leather boots suited her. They are zipped at the back and can stretch up to 5cm so are very comfy.

Regalli Ricci (apologies if spelt wrong!) are the cheaper sister brand to Sarm Hippique and both come in many different lengths and widths to order (Frogpool Manor sell them on line but are available in most big tack shops. I have really big calves and I got a pair of the Regalli Ricci ones for about £200 and they are still going strong after 5 years. The Sarm HIppique are more expensive at about £350-399.

Mountain Horse wide fitting High Rider and Sportive also come up quite big on the calf though they only do a std and a wide fit and I think are around £150.

Good luck!

i ended up with short boots and gaitors. i have 17.5" calves and 17" long legs - no-one makes them in this size off the peg. i found Sergio Grasso gaitors with big bit of elastic at the back were the only gaitors to fit too - having big legs is a right pain!
