In surrey but I don't want to have to jump anything the 1st time out. I am quite a nervous rider and I have a scatty TB which I am not sure how he will behave so I want somewhere where they are used to novices and I can stay at the back with all the other non jumpers. Any suggestions?

Yes that's the plan to go to some small shows, hack out more (at all) and do a sponsored ride later in the year just to see how he gets on. I am hoping he will settle after the 1st 15 mins or so.

I think getting out as much as possible in summer will help, but even if your tb doesn't settle his first day out- don't feel disheartened, it usually takes me two weeks cubbing to bottom my coloured before he really settles to it, some horses just need to routine of going out regularly to get them settled. I would do as much cubbing as you can.
