I have just found the perfect horse for me, exactly what I have been looking for...

.. sent an email, looked up flights... then realised that I sent my passport off to be renewed on Tuesday and won't get it back for up to 3 weeks!!! B**ger!!!!!!!

So who's going to go to Ireland and try it for me??? :p

Not sure if I have misheard this but......I'm not sure you need a passport if you book with certain airlines?
Each airline has a list of exceptable id that they take and I'm sure one or two will except a driving licence?
I may have got it totally wrong-the Dubliner rellies over last week talk too fast!

I just googled it, and a driving license will do.. I only have a paper one (that also needs renewing, was going to do it when i get my passport back - with my marriage license as need to change my name...)

poo!

I know, what a numpty!! I have been sending emails making enquiries and planning to arrange viewing a few horses asap.. then realised about an hour ago that I sent it off on Tuesday!! grrr...

Are you sure you need a passport? Admitedly I haven't been over for a couple of years but I used to go over regularly to Dublin for work and never needed to show one?

Oh, what sort of horse are yu going to see?
If you plan on flying Ryanair then you have to have a passport. Aer arann have just ceased trading last week so there arent too many options left for flights anyway - at least reasonably priced ones!

17hh grey, RID, 4 years old... I might see if my Irish YO will go for me, he goes all the time anyway....

Unfortunately, Ryanair can and will turn you away if you do not have a passport - doubt if any other airline would but Ryanair DEFINITELY does.

Where are you? Why not drive?

We're off next week - if he's near Kilkenny or Limerick, then we'll be around there....

otherwise, very easy to catch the overnight ferry :)

I flew to Dublin a couple of weeks ago with BMI and most definitely needed to have my passport.

A couple of years ago I went over by ferry and although I took my passport it was never checked but things may have changed since then.
