wanted adds....................can't people read?

i have a wanted add for a saddle on a couple of face book sites

you would think it would be straight forward, know exactly what i would like, brand of saddle, type of saddle whether is should be GP or Dressage etc, length of seat 17.5, width of saddle w or xw and the particular model.................only variation is can be black or brown not fussed, stop gap tried this model on before but bringing back into work so i know the back will change etc but i know it will fit, it is an x brood mare so we have a little bit of baby belly from 3 years ago.............

so it would be easy surely you look at the saddle in your tack room and go is it brand X...............nope then no need to reply is it 17.5 nope 16.5...........no need to reply etc etc

so responses for far have range from 16" to 18.5", i have an Albion, Fairfax, wintec you name it or a jump saddle which is narrow but i use to use it on a shire....................


its not like i am looking for a horse 14.3 to 18hh, potential to Burghley but not to exceed x£ and must be good in traffic..................................and i have now cleansed

Haha, yes, I had exactly the same thing when I posted a wanted ad for a saddle. Perhaps with enough willpower they thought my horse might change shape? Although after wading through all the dross and sending innumerable messages to people saying "sorry but how big is the saddle you are selling?", I found a suitable saddle for £100 from someone half an hour down the road. So it may be worth gritting your teeth and persevering. Good luck!

Wanted ads for horses are even worse! But had the same recent experience with a wanted saddle ad so feel your pain

People in general are quite dim and when it comes to social media , they really like to show off their inability to read and comprehend.
Post a wanted ad say for a 15hh+ gelding only , age 10 and under.and you'll be offered lots of 14.2 mares age 15.

I know it drives you mad have had similar replies, I have enough saddles to open my own saddlery so put a wanted advert on here you might get lucky ?

I've got a second hand synthetic 10" cub saddle with adjustable panels. One of the panels been slightly nibbled by mice, but that is only cosmetic.

Sure that'll be just what the OP is looking for .
