After horse number 2 failed her vetting I have decided to put some adverts on line and in the local tack shops under the "wanted" section.
So am thinking of putting:
"WANTED.
15.2+ HH middle weight confidence giver. Mare or Gelding. For hacking, schooling, low level jumping and generally a bit of fun. Must be safe and sane. Looking to pay anywhere up to £4,500. Loving home with great facilities awaits"

I wanted to put for slightly nervous rider but Hubby says that will put people off? I am somewhat nervous until I get to know the horse then I'm fine. I want to get across that i want something to get my confidence back on but don't want something that is dead from the neck down?
Any hints or help gratefully received.
Thanks

I think you should put in that it is for a slightly nervous rider as you have said so that they are aware of your riding style - that would not be suitable for some types, who might be nervous themselves! I would be reluctant to name your highest price as all the horses will suddenly be that much! (I think that is a reasonable ceiling but no need to tell everyone). Not sure what part of the country you are in but have you tried www.stubleyhollowfarm.com ? - there have been lots of good recommendations for them on here.

What a refreshingly honest website - and a rather nice WB mare that looks like she might be 1/2 CB!!

I would leave out for nervous rider. you have already put in confidence giver which should be enough to put your point across without making you sound like you need something that is dead from the neck down. I would also take the max price out, it's something that you can discuss at a later point and you dont want to limit yourself or end up with horses with inflated pricetags

As I'm selling something almost what you're after, I'd say that looks good. the "confidence giver" would stop me ringing you as my horse is too young for that label. However only my honesty would stop me saying I wanted £4,500 for her having read your ad!!

I would take out your top price for the reasons already mentioned. You've already asked for confidence giver so I wouldn't say any more until you receive a call. Good luck finding your dream horse
