If you have a big enough butchers why not ask for more bones? Can't think of anything worse than faffing around picking lead shot out of pheasants or skinning bunnies (Inuits won't touch them in their coats, JRT however eats everything but the ears and feet - tail and all!), I can't imagine why anyone would want to feed fox to a dog! Yes hounds rag and pull and there probably isn't much left from a good pack but they don't actually eat it as part of their diet. Venison is a rich meat and what comes out the other end can be very dark and runny because its so rich - depends on the dog but I wouldn't fancy clearing that up.

Well then you seem to have it pretty much sorted so I don't see the point in your post. I wouldn't bother butchering pheasants and rabbits, they're not big enough warrant butchering.

i always skin and gut rabbits, then chop them in quarters, i pack organs seperatly.

but then the rabbits i was given recently were 20 pounds in weight.

but i usually chop small ones in half, and pheasents etc i pluck most feathers and pack organs seperate etc.

but its getting a steady supply that is the problem
