As in title we are looking for a GSD puppy can anyone know of a litter or rescue puppy needing a home? Been put off local rescue centres as the 3 that I have been in touch with were so rude and unhelpful. We would take on an older GSD if it was good with cats. Will be a family home for life. Any help would be wonderful thank you. PM if you can help Please.

manytears.co.uk .. they often have a grown up gsd. website updated nearly every day. got my lovely labx from them he was only 8 weeks old and is lovely. well worth the drive to wales. my local rescues were not much help either. MT s do foster out and cat and child test the dogs. good luck sadly thre will be many xmas thow outs in the next few months. murphys minder (?) on here does some gsd rescues i think.

Thank you so much for the links you sent have looked at all of them and emailed the closest and shall work out from them if no joy. Thank you again

SOS Dog Rescue (based in Suffolk and Surrey) take in all sorts to re-home but seem to get a large amount of GSD's looking for new homes. Google them - very helpful.

No worries!

Penniless, wonder who is churning them out in that neck of the woods? :(

Unfortunately it's no one place - they take in dogs from all over the country. The one we got two weeks before Christmas came over from Ireland - he is a year old and had been in at least 8 homes! As you can imagine, he now has a home for life with us here - and gets on brilliantly with our other dogs.

The breed that they are being inundated with are Staffies. So if anyone wants a staffie, do get in touch with them because they literally are taking daily calls countrywide to try and re-home them. They won't put anything down. All dogs going into them are treated as part of their family - live in their houses with other pets and the children too. They are all vaccinated, wormed and neutered before re-homing.

All the dogs which come into the Suffolk centre we get to see, as Neil who runs the Suffolk branch takes them for their daily walks which includes coming to have a chat with us at our catering van. Hence, how we came to meet our new boy "Jay".
