Wanted: Live cover ID stallion in Ireland

Hi all,

Been reading the posts with interest - a lot of knowledge to be found here!
Hope to learn from you all in time.

Am looking for recommendations for an ID stallion to cover our ISH mare.

Would like:
1 Temperament of a saint though sense of humour quite welcome
2 Good solid type, plenty of bone
3 Aim is to produce a horse to keep predominantly for hacking but one that is very versatile - bog rides and not afraid to take a random drain or ditch, beach, through town etc and possibly farm work. (An old type Draught basically)
4 Live cover only - no AI only stallions please
5 Within 2 hours of Sligo at steady towing speed

I have been looking and there are a few horses that I like very much though I thinking seeing is believing so a meeting in the flesh will need to organised once there is a shortlist.

Mare:
White Clover x Glen Bar mare

Incl. Home Rule - The Conqueror - Flagmount Boy & Tory Hill
Plenty of TB in there. Refined but she is also strong. Lovely front end but a little cow hocked (in part I suspect a trimming issue) - still plenty of power there and no problems with soundness.

If I thought we could buy the right sort of horse then we would but there's also the sentimental aspect of wanting to continue her line, she's a great girl and loves to mother - trying to nurse the Clyde x yearling who is nearly as large as her is an amusing sight...! Youngsters can also be very rewarding and there is time and land for them here.

Will add a conformation photo of her when she's chilled out. Currently enjoying the first bit of sunshine for a month here!

Thanks for that, they have some fine stallions. Was drawn to both Casanova and Dianthus but had it in mind that they only offered AI for some reason. Will see if i call in when I am down that way next.

There's a stallion called Hillviewfarm Superstar standing with Gerry Quinn in Roscommon - would you know anything about him? Seems to be little info. He's a block of a horse with 10" bone but his youngstock that i've found via google don't seem as chunky as I would had expected.

We have two cracking yearlings by Lionwood Kinsales Lad. Both have amazing laid back temperaments and are great models. He seems to throw to the mare, our two are very different types of ID. The first mare is 17hh and very much a quality middleweight type, her filly is quite like her but with more bone and substance. The second mare is a real old fashioned ID show mare, a magnificent mover but has a plain head. Her filly is small, a gorgeous uphill model and an even better mover than her dam. Best of all she has a beautiful head.

Hi thanks for the recommendation Red M.
I saw his studbook listing and have previously looked at Ainnin Stud's page. He is a lovely sort and they breed some really good types but a few things made me uncertain of him - between our mare and his size I think we might end up a little shorter or finer than hoped for (she's 62%TB and so maybe not the best starting point for a robust type but I'm reassuring myself she is broad!)
He's also definitely the further side of our preferred travel limited.
I am going to keep him in mind though after your glowing report, cheers
