Been looking for thermal undies so I can layer up for the winter - really want something high neck or polo neck - can only find the Musto base layer stuff but its a bit pricey - can anyone recommend something similar for someone on aa cheaper budget?!

Rohan do brill warm clothes! the winter bags (trousers) keep you warm to -15! and not bulky, wash well, dry quickly, fine to ride in with chaps on!! they do thermal under garments too. not cheap but very good quality and really really warm and comfortable! i havent had chilblains on my legs for over 2 years now. i am converted!!!

Try ebay I got some long john type things and a long sleve top from there which are great. Make of mine are GRENE. Dunno if still on as got mine a yr ago but worth a look. Really work well and stop my chill blanes too!

Your better googling for ski-ing baselayers - you should get loads of options - especially if you want a polo neck. And the great thing about them is that they are designed to wick away moisture so if you are having to muck out etc you won't get cold when you stop.

I do a fair bit of walking and by far and away the best in terms of warm to weight ratio is pure silk. It can be a bit expensive but it is really warm and you'll hardly remember your wearing them and are super comfy under jods.

Have to say I am a massive fan of Icebreaker Merino wool stuff. But it is definitely NOT cheap LOL

The best thing about is it never seems to get smelly. Just love mine.
