Hi,

I want to get a sharer for my ment to be event horse but I want him to stay home with me at least for the beginning and then not be miles away.

Would you put a advert in the H&H as its nationwide or would you just stick to tackshops and local free sites??

Id like someone that wants to see how far up in BD they could get with him as hes good on the flat, ready to go Elem now but would def go further, although he is a TB so prob not all the way up to the top but close ish I recon!!!

Would you put him on H&H and horsequest? Maybe I should try the local ones first and see if anything comes from it.

Has anyone advertised for rider in the big sites and had results? Or the small local free sites?

Vicki

I've used more local / lower key sites like newrider.com or yours2share . However, mine is a RC allrounder with no issues - other than being ( a v laid back) TB. I was happy for anyone other than a complete novice - had a couple who couldn't do rising trot - and one that only rode Western...

I desperately tried to screen thoroughly over the phone, but a couple always slip through the net..!
You however, sound like you want a much more experienced / competitive rider. A lot of the 'big' sites are running deals for advertising at the moment, so would suggest popping an ad on. Horsemart seems to be the most popular. Also depending where you are in the country - your local RC or Equestrian College?? Near me we have Chiltern Rider magazine (& website) - it would be somewhere I'd advertise if I wanted a higher class / more competitive rider. The other sites tend to attract either happy hackers or under 16s - in my experience.

as you want local i would stick to local- so tack shops etc...also i've always had a lot of interest in ads i've put on new rider. might be worth asking in CR too as there might be someone suitable in there....

Im in Berks, near Reading. I shall post in CR too.

New rider puts me off a bit just due to the name?! I have never been on that site. I shall have a look now.

Thanks

i've only ever used it to look for a happy hacker and have had some unsuitable people messaging me but also some nice normal people so wort putting an ad on...its free...
