Wanting to get my lorry licence so can drive horseboxes and in desperate need of help in finding great places to go to. Im based in Newmarket.

I already know about the medical and driver cpc etc. Its just really the place to go for training. Ive tried emailing some of the racing transporters but have had no answer

Thanks for that. Been googling places etc, just ideally wanting people who have been and done it near to newmarket who can say yes good place no dont go etc.

I just dont want to fall into the trap of "the broker" who are the middle men and can cost me more

From my recollection your two nearest LGV DSA test places are Peterborough or Ipswich so which of those two do you want to go to ?

When you have decided which then choose a LGV training school based in those areas

I might have some suggestions when you have chosen

thanks for that, i had also been told there were dsa test centres in Chelmsford and norwich but i might be wrong on that.

Hadnt decided where to go, being newmarket thought i was pretty central for any of them. So it was a case of the recommendations for the training really

Driver CPC ????

You either need that for commercial LGV driving or because you are aged between 18 and 21 for driving (privately or commercially) a LGV over 7.5 tonnes

If not doing either of the above then you do not need it

There are test centres in those two places but they are further away

If you choose Chelmsford then Flair LGV training (recommended) has B&B available

If you want to know more about Flair then google - FLAIR TRUCKNETUK - as many on that site have trained with them

thanks for all the help it is appreciated. I only say chelmsford as a possibility as my boyfriend lives in the colchester area hence a way for cheaper accomodation lol, and less(ish) commute

driver cpc because it would be either my sole job i.e. work for a transporter or as part of my job in the stud/racing industry.
AH - that makes sense

Looks like you need a LGV C course with the initial modules 2 and 4 as well

When you ask for price quotes then make sure the initial is included in the all-in price

Sorted then .... holliday-ish with boyfriend and a LGV course = win win :D

Just remember you will need SOME sleep for the training !!!!!
