Just seen War Horse at The National Theatre London, however its moving shortly to the West End. It really is an amazing portrayal of the relationship between man and horse and the horses role in the World Wars.

The puppetry is amazing, they manage to capture all the mannerisms and quirks of the horse accurately, even to 'a horsey theatre goers eye'. Highly recommend this to anyone from 10 years upwards.

I would love to go and see that! I heard the story read by Timothy Spall on Radio 2 last year. I liked it so much I googled it and it showed a tiny bit of the show on youtube. It looked amazing.
A bit far for me to go for a theatre visit though!

they'd have to have counselling. If you cry easily don't go and see this, I haven't gone purely on hearing a friends experience!

I saw it over Christmas and loved it - it is moving, but so so worth going to see! I'm a wimp and although bits of it did make me shed a tear, it wasn't horrific by any means - there were a couple of teenagers around 13+ in the theatre when I was there

I took my 10 year old son and his friend and they loved it. However I must confess to being a little teary eyed myself.

It does show the harsh reality of war, but I think that's a healthy antidote to the soulless computerised war games they are otherwise exposed to.

Definately a good thing to learn about first 2 world wars. I can remember being upset about all the horses killed in the first world war when I first did History at secondary school.
