Hi everyone!

I am off to London for a weekend and really want to see a show. War horse is on and the reviews are excellent and I'm keen to see it as I love the book.

Has anyone seen it? What are your thoughts and will my very un-horsey OH approve!?!?!

Thanks in advance.

I know some non horsey people who've seen it and said it was very good - regular theatre goers too so they should know their stuff! I'd love to see it too.

My folks have promised to take my OH and I as part of my birthday present. Just waiting now for them to come up with the date...

I know it's based on a kids' book, but can anyone tell me if the actual play would be suitable for a boy aged 10 (or would it be a bit too sad), as I would love to take my nephew as well?

I read the book a long time ago. But might read it again before I go!

I just need to find some good value tickets (OH very frugal!)

It looks incredible. I have heard nothing but excellent feedback. Desperate to see it too. I went to a demo there and they brought out 'Joey' and it was unbelievably real!!!

i saw it earlier in the year & it was great. There are some things the 'horses' do that horsey people pick up on and non-horsey will miss, but something for everyone. Go see it but take a tissue with you!

I saw this at the end of April and loved it. It is definitely worth getting tickets for. I was amazed with the puppets and the way they made them move. If I'm honest I didn't much care what the story was as I was too absorbed in watching the puppets. Moving story yes, but I think I would have enjoyed it regardless. These wooden framed horses looked so alive! There is a very amusing goose as well!!!
I went with a non-horsey friend who didn't yawn her way through the play and at the end said that she enjoyed it very much indeed.

My sister saw it last weekend. She enjoyed it apart from one of the characters had the most annoying fake devon accent and she couldn't stand listening to him - spoilt it a bit for her

I've seen it, it was absoloutely FANTASTIC. There were points in the play where I forgot the horses were puppets!

I think a 10 year old boy would love it. There are guns and loud banging but boys love all that don't they! I don't think they'd be all that upset at the sad bits.

Enjoy
