I've just been to see War Horse today and was wondering what other people thought of it?
The acting was brilliant, the horses amazing and the first half was fantastic but did anyone else think the second half was a bit dull?

I went to see it in May. I thought it was fantastic, but the fake whinnying got on my nerves! If I was critical, I thought the ending was a bit rushed, but there is a limit of what one can do!!

I saw it a while ago and really, really enjoyed it.

Loved the part when the horse 'grew up' from a foal to a horse and the horse came rearing in. Brilliant.

And the goose :D

I only saw the first half, got taken ill and had to go home at the interval. I was sat right up in the very front row too... one day i will get to see the whole thing hopefully

I saw it last year and thought it was fantastic too. The whinnying was a bit annoying as anyone with a real horse knows they do not whinny every 5 seconds! I thought the puppets were amazing though and so much so by the end when it got caught in the wire my sister and I were sobbing like idiots! :D

Not sure I'll be able to handle that since puppet horses getting caught in pretend barbed wire had me weeping, I dread to think what sort of state I'll be in with real horses even if it is 'only a film'! :o

We saw it last month and absolutely loved it. We had non-horsey people with us and they loved it too. The puppets were SO clever - even when just standing in the back of the stage while another part was spotlighted they were fidgiting just like real horses. We thought it was like a cross between Black Beauty and The Lion King with a large dose of war! The most upsetting part for me was seeing the sad pictures in the programme of real war horses, and reading how many died..
