Have any on you ever attended the above mock hunt? Particualrly the beginners one? I am considering taking my mare to it as it is within an enclosed area and I can easily go back to the start if needed? Is it worth using couple of ACP to take the edge off? What tack would you recommend. I took her out yesterday in her myler snaffle for a canter and her head got lower and she was pulling more in canter

Don't know anything about the mock hunt you mention but I wouldn't give ACP, far too risky IMO. I would say a better calmer in this sort thing is Tempralax or similar, I have used at to take the edge off an overexcitable younster with great success. Hope you have a good time :)

Do not give ACP because she won't corrdinate her legs to jump far to dangerous & will also invalid any of your insurance policies if anything goes wrong. Could may be try her in another bit usually the 1st time a horse goes it is very good it is when it starts to go more often & catches on to what it is all about they start to get more keen. Have a good day & enjoy.

Ok, I will not use ACp. I know my vets have said to the hunt kennels etc can use like 1 0r 2 to take the edge off. I have contacted the organiser and apparently you can easily get back to the start and it is all enclosed so if she does start being a loon - rearing etc or tanking off I can easily call it a day. She isn't always the most forward horse for schooling etc so I am hoping it will improve this side of things
