Warm Johds/full Chaps?

Mum is taking me shopping tomm, (Derby House and Robinsons) and I'm desperate for some thermal/warm johds or should I get full warm chaps?

Suffering with chillblaines on my thighs, rest of me is fine, just my thighs!

Any recommendations appreciated x

Also treated myself to some musto full lenght chaps which are very nice and snug too

the musto snug ones are good, and very warm, but they're very slippery in the saddle, just so you know! i am careful which ones i ride in them, put it that way (obviously too used to the extreme stickyness of my bentex breeches now.)
Pikeur Luganas are available in winter weight, i'm going to try them next.
 
I wear cheap wax chaps in this weather. They have a wool lining and are SOOOOOO warm. You really notice when you take them off.
 
What are the bentex ones? not heard of them before.
Live in my princesse ones in the summer and have been wearing the mustos for some time now due to the drop in temperature but do agree with you they are not particulary sticky, good job Pidge is a good boy

bentex are absolutely super sticky, i found mine on ebay, but there's a site that sells them direct, not expensive. rts-bentex is the company name.
i think i'm going to have to get a few cream pairs for competing now, i'm getting used to the stickyness. the new mare shied quite violently at a couple of ducks flapping out of the ditch the other day, and i didn't even move in the saddle... i had a second of smugness and then realised "it's not my amazing seat and balance, it's the breeches!!"

LOL!! Will have to get a white pair for jumping! Very nearly hit the deck tues eve jumping, lost a rein in the JO, still went for the next fence but lil horror put the brakes on as I had no contact!! Ended up on her neck but managed to get back into the saddle and finish the final two fences nicely!
 
Can I just make an observation. Chilblains on thighs can be a serious condition and I urge you to get them checked out. My daughter suffers with cold perniculitis which is agrivated by riding in the cold. This feels like and appears like chilblains but her thighs are also discoloured, a bit like bruising. She has to wear ski trousers and her legs still feel cold to the touch. Yes, buy some nice warm johds, these can be improved by wearing silk thermals as well and take care not to get cold rather then warming yourself up! Not always easy when caring for our horses. Thanks JanTilly, am at the doctors tomm anyway, will get them to take a look. No chance of not getting cold though, with mine to do and working part time on a local yard too. Have just been putting hydrocortisone cream on.
 
Cool! well keep an eye on them. They are no doubt painful, if the pain becomes unbearable it may need steriod treatment so the hydrocortisone cream is a step in the right direction.
