Do you have a warm up routine for your horse?

Im looking for ideas as it takes along while for my horse to warm up and start working properly, then once he is warmed up we are both tired :(

Atm, I walk, trot and canter on a loose rein on both riens, then collect him some more and start doing circles then spirals on the circles, serpentines and tranisitons.

Some one did suggest going for a w,t,c in the field first, or using a pessoa when I lunge

I know you have to warm horses up, am I asking too much for it not to take 20-30 minutes?

Instead of warming up on a loose rein use a long rein with the horse stretching into it and going forwards activly. when you walk you can bend both ways and do circles or turns then ask for a slightly shorter frame and add some trot work before asking for a working frame. without being there and seeing whats happening it sounds as if the horse is not really working forwards into the bit in the warmup hence you being tired after the first 20 mins.
