Warmth of a fleece .... in comparison to rugs with a filling ??

How warm do you think a fleece keeps a horse - when compared to a rug with a filling?

I brought a WB Jasper xtra light stable last season but always seem to end up putting him back in his thin WB fleece instead because he seems to stay warmer it in !!

Left him in his fleece tonight and its down to 7 now ....... he's not been rugged much yet, but hope he's warm enough !! (worry worry !! )

im sure he will be fine! when its cold i would rather have two feeces on mine than a heavy rug i dont really know if it IS warmer but i have a feeling it would be lol

I have a wool travel rug and have used it in the winter to keep laddo warm...made him sweat like a pig,lol

,fleeces great as they breathe

I have a feeling fleeces are meant to be around 350g so probably would be warmer than a light stable rug.

If I'm cold hanging around up the yard I find I'm a lot warmer wrapping a LW stable rug round me than a fleece (mine aren't mega thick fleeces though).
