A Horsewatch contact who lives at Severn Beach has been visited twice today by travellers in a white transit van. She keeps her horses in a remote dead end lane, both times she confronted them they drove off at speed.

Description. White transit van with tow hitch and blacked out out rear windows. Reg P871 FUJ. Driven by white male, passenger. Staffie or boxer type dog in vehicle. Drove off at speed when confronted, disappeared on to housing estate at Alveston.

Local police equine liasion officer has been informed, and has information that a gang is in the area from the north of the UK and is hitting yards for horses and tack in the South West.

Something similar has happened in the bridgwater area recently too, also been things going missing from local farms especially scrap metal.
