I brought the new Net-tex fly spray last week, done a skin sample on my horse, every thing was fine so i began to use the fly spray all over the horse, but now my horse has a lot of dead burnt skin hanging off from her chest & neck, very strange... but the only thing i have done different within the week is use the new Net-Tex fly spray, others at my yard also agree... I have e-mailed the company to look into this... Any one else used Net-Tex fly spray yet!!! I'll take a pic and pop it on.

Oh dear I hope your pore horse is ok. Will have to have a close look at mine as I use the same. Thanks for the warning

it looks like the skin has burnt now peeling off, with pink skin now showing

Gucci only been using it about 3 days all over but test patch was about week ago. So will double check when I go to the yard in about 10 minutes after my glass of iced tea.

I've been using it and quite a few other net-tex for years with no probs! its most likely that she's allergic to an ingredient in it!

I put this post in new lounge aswell, and some one has also posted that a horse from her yard has also been burnt by this fly spray...

I've been using the advance nettex soray this summer and I must say I have had no problems at all - in fact its the only one I have ever found that truely repells horse flies.

I'v got the bottle of net-tex and it's not the Advance fly spray, "my mistake" its the normal one... Vet comming out tomorrow

I used the normal Net-tex last year with no problems, but bought the Advanced this year. It's OK on most of my horse, but if I spray it on the thinner skin area at the top of his back legs (inside) the same thing happens. I washed it off carefully with baby shampoo and it healed very quickly, I don't use it on that area any more, although it's one of the worst bits for flies.

i've been using naff off deet spray and gel, and my boy had dead skin hanging off his chest - i thought he'd bben scratched trying to get those extra tasty bits thru thorny hedges, but now he has crusty bits round girth area. stopped using the product this wk, but no change - in fact this evening there is more dead skin than ever on chest and neck. have rubbed sudocream in to loosen everything up, and am asking intructor when she comes out tomorrow for her advice. have used it on other 2 ponies with no reaction but then they're not as "posh" as my new boy so he's probi got more sensitive skin. having had horses with rain scald and sweet itch, i'm hoping that it is an allergic reaction to the spary.
