Hello Guys

Apologies for posting this here but I want lots of people to see this.

This weekend Appleby Horse fair in Cumbria takes place and hundereds of travellers are making there way up and donwn the country to get there. (esp people in the north of the country as most will be around here at the mo)

PLEASE PLEASE keep all your horses safe and valubles locked away as it is a well known fact that horse and tack thefts quadrouple at this time of year.

I am not trying to tar travellers - my friends family are romany's and are lovely BUT it a sad fact some are a bit cheeky to say the least.

Please note this is not to offend anyone - I just want to make sure that peeps are safe!

Kind Regards

I saw 6 lots of horses/carts etc going up the A65 towards Settle on Monday on my way back from a fun ride over that way. There is a guy round the corner from my yard driving his horses up there for it too!

We used to have them come past us, camp near us and never had any trouble - I think the true Romany Gypsies are a lot different to the Pickey caravan mob and do get a bad rap

StinkerStoker you are 110% right there - I have never had no bother off gypsys ..... even then hardcore pikey waltzer fair ground ones!

But it is a Police Statistic that things that arent bolted down in stable yards across the country get nicked, and then recovered at Appleby at this time of year.

Mind you - they have some fab horses up there that obviously arent nicked !!!!

True romany gypsies are really nice people, care about their animals, work hard, don't rip people off or threaten them and when they move on they don't leave a mess behind them

Travellers who call themselves gypsies do all of the above... I can't abide them.

Why do people call travellers gypsies when they are no such thing. this gives the decent gypsies a bad name which they don't deserve.

I speak from experience as I have met gypsies and always had a pleasent chat with them, the travellers I have met have been aggressive, threatening and scruffy.

Regards Appleby Fair, I feel really sorry for the horses.
