I was at a show yesterday where one of these snapped!! Luckily the rider was experienced and well balanced so didn't fall off.

However I felt I should warn people that if you have old ones or very cheap ones it maybe worth at least checking them!!

I've had my sprengers for years and years so will be replacing mine soon

I just posted about bow balance ones in preparation :D

I've got the Sprenger ones which I've had for a while. Thanks for the warning, not heard of this happening to anyone else tbh.

I had the cheapie ones and ended up going round Borde Hill with 1 stirrup as one snapped after the first fence. Thankfully it was a Intro and my lovely mare didn't stop or I would have been catapulted into space :)

My new bendy stirrups will be for dressage only and checked regularly

I won't buy the cheap versions. I have sprengers on all my saddles. Expensive, but they make riding far more comfortable on my dodgy ankles, and I trust they are well made and up to the job.

I have also known this to happen with the cheaper make again on a cc course. My local tack shop has stopped selling them because off safety
