Hi All

I just wanted to let everyone know that I had an incident at my yard today, whereby earlier on a pick up truck was seen at the gate of my mares field, following that I later received a call to tell me that the farmer, who I let my stables from, had chased some men out of my stallions field who where carrying something.... possibly feed. naturally the police have been called and all my horses are now stuck in their stables for their sins. This happened during the day, Now I'm too worried to have the horses out in the day whilst I'm at work.

But I just wanted everyone who keeps horses in the gloucester area to be aware. The first vechicle seen was a dark blue pick up, second vechicle being a white transit van, the men have been described as the 'traveller type'.

We're currently thinking that they went in with my stallion to see if he was approachable in order to come back at a later date.

We had a scare like this a few months back up in Yorkshire, men in vans taking pictures of horses in fields, and also a more recent scare of men going into yards and getting the layouts of yards and tackrooms, and figuring out locks!

Makes me worried about my pony being on a yard where no one lives there permanently, thought it's a little better cause everyone around knows him as 'that naughty ginger pony'. Needless to say, not much of a weight off my mind!

There have been a few incidents similar to this in gloucester. Along the A46 a fence to a horses field has been purposely cut.

We've had people come and look around our yard so we've upped the security a bit (better locks and concrete blocks by gates.)

I have also heard rumours that 6 horses have been stolen from a well known rider in glos. Not sure if it is true or not but everyone keep an eye out.

Those vehicles you described Reid sound like the ones involved in the scare a couple of years ago - there were some number plates being circulated by the police then too

No they are chipped but I'm going to hav to now, haven't done it until now due to showing the youngsters but I'd rather that than than turning up to find a missing horse
