Well I took him to the show on Sun. So here is the report as promised.
I got him in on Sat and gave him a lunge then bathed him. He was so good even though at my new place we don't have hot water to bath them in
I washed him with the hose and he ended up smelling of apples. Luckly he lives on his own as he smelt good enough to eat
. I turned him back out and the first thing he did was roll
Luckly our fields are dry so he didn't get to dirty
.
Sunday morning we where up nice and early as we wanted to allow plenty of time to load him. I got him in and gave him a brush he had managed to keep himself clean so thankfully he didn't need another wash.
Then came the moment of truth. It was time to load him. I put his breaky in the lorry and then he walked streight up the ramp
He loaded like a little pro.

We arrived at the show well before the first class because he loaded so well. We wern't in till the fourth class. I went and did my entrys. I desided I could only afford to do two classes so I didn't enter the M&M large breeds in the end. We watched the youngstock class then went to get him ready. I unloaded him and my OH held him while I gave him one last good groom. Then we headed to our ring and waited for our class. Eventualy it was our turn to go in. I was very nurvous. It was the new forest pony inhand class and there was a very lovely bay that had done well in the youngstock class. Herbie was being as good as gold and in the initial line up we where pulled in second behind the lovely bay who was about 2 hands bigger that us. We did our trot ups and went back out on the final go round then this happened.

We where pulled in first place. I couldn't believe it and I burst into tears
I was so proud of the Horrid one.
Next we had the M&M inhand championship. Herbs was as good as gold again even when another of the horses, a welsh mare, kicked out at him. He didn't react he just stood there looking at me as if to say "Well thats a very horrid horse isn't it mum"
but the judge was obviously a welsh person as the mare who kicked out at us got champion and a sec A stallion got reserve. I didn't care though Herbs had behaved himself even with the killer mare (who tried to kisk her handler several times and kept fly bucking for no reason) and several stallions in the ring.
Our next class was the Novice horse or pony inhand class. Again Herbs was fantastic. The judge found it hard to deside between us and a yearling but in the end gave it to the yearling. She said it was because the yearling had a better walk but having watched the videos back the walkes where egsactly the same. Not that I care I'm glad the yearling won after all Herbs is 9 and it was hard to split them so I would have had the younger one first if I was judging. I think the judge just wanted to give a reason.
We left the ring very happy with our first and second places and I was over the moon that herbs had behaved himself but them it was time to load him to come home
. I was very nurvous as I led him up to the ramp. Then he just stopped at the bottom and looked at me. My heart sank. Oh no I thought don't ruin it now. I sent my OH to get the remains of Herbies breckfast out the living. I put the bucket in the lorry and then Herbs walked streight up the ramp and started eating his feed.

I'm just so prouds of my little pony. He was such a star all day.
OOOOPS sorry for the mamoth post. Thankyou if you read all the way through. Have a huge chockie bar and enjoy some pics of the horrid one at his second party.

In the first class.
Very proud mummy in the championship.
Standing up for the judge in the second class.
At the end of a sucessful morning. Me trying not to cry.
Thanks again for looking.
