I was informed last night that police have been visiting yards advising them to look out for a white transit van with

'Mandale Paving'

on the side, 56 reg , they are known to the police, they are 3 travellers sussing out farms/livery stables and may be linked to some of the break ins in the last month, not only that but they are known to be dangerous.

Please pass this on, be on your guard and up your yard/farm security, this info came from our local farrier.

Etd. to say, I've just googled Mandale Paving and there is a company that do paving/stone walls etc up in Cleveland way and just wanted to say that I'm not in any way suggesting/connecting the above with them.

Also have noticed on another forum, someone up in Scotland has also warned folk of the above, so it could be that it's just one of these emails/texts that has just circulated about, however it did come from the farrier.

It's so scary to think that even if you saw it happening there is nothing you can do because you just don't know what these people are capable of.

thanks hun for this, ill go speak to my local copper friend who also has horses around the corner from my field to see if they know anything else.
robbing tw*ts why cant they go earn a legal living like everyone else?
might be an idea now to get my friend to start security patrols around my place.
 
I know its a real worry, specially when your yard has been done over so many times before, I tell you something if I saw them I'd just see red, no matter how dangerous they are, nothing would stop me from trying to tear they bloody heads off, it would be pay back for last time my saddles were taken

im with you on all what youve said. id also see red, i had my wagon broken into and stole everything in there, b******s . dont care how scary they are, theres always someone harder and scarier than they are lol - especially a woman scorned lol

talking of seeing red..............i wonder how easy it is to fix a sprinkler system with either permanat dye or some of the smart water. so anyone enters either your yard or tack room or barn as in out of hours would get plastered so at least they where easier to find

i like the idea of it a the farm or yard gate so as they drive in you get their car

now that is a good idea - im sure someone could make something to do that. mmmm just to find that someone to do it

i am liking the idea of security though and there is a local company very near me that do mobile security (and they arent people to mess about with if you get what i mean)
 
Smartwater is a company that do spinkler systems and use fluorescent dye when people break in - its quite expensive to set up tho!

Oooh....I got a txt from a friend saying exactly that Kenzo....wonder if its true or as you say a circular text...either way, I'm keeping my eyes peeled.

I dont keep tack at the yard anymore, and I'm having my horses freezemarked on sunday.......bit crap we have to be so alert for the thieving scum

Did you, hmmm I begining to think its a circular after I googled it, someone has obvioulsy received the text and told our farrier, but then it must of stemmed from somewhere originally, so I guess its better to be safe than sorry.

I dont come on here often but just want to share what I encountered.

I live on a farm in the harrogate area and on tuesday evening this van was driving over our crop fields deliberately making a mess. This is not a hoax at all, its all true.

We hadnt heard about this van before so tried to approach them and block them off, as soon as they saw us they took off over more crop fields. I managed to get infront and corner them off but they reversed and drove straight at me at speed managing to get away through a small gap.

There were 3 men in the van with a dog, golden labrador type. The van had Mandale Paving written over it, looked professionally done, was 56 reg transit type.

Police had heard about the van before when we reported it.

Please look out for the van, it really isnt a hoax. We've been advised by the police to call 999 is it appears again
