Warts round Mares Noo Noo

I have a grey mare who is currently in foal, today giving her the once over, lifted tail and found she has quite a lot of warts going the full length and both sides of her noony, does this represent something ? and is there anything I can do for them ? thankyou.

I would get your vet to check. Could be sarcoids.

could also be melanomas, very common in grey horses.

Yes, a friends grey mare has quite a few melanomas round her vulva. They are just monitoring them at present, but as your mare is in foal probably best to get the vet to check.

Could she have caught the papilloma virus from the stallion she was covered with? Was she covered through a stud with all the health checks?

Yes, or melanomas... my mare has them

Thankyou for all the replies, i'll get the vet out to check her, she was covered by a proper stud and all health checks were done on her before hand and the stallion had the relevant vet certificates.
