Has anyone studied or been to warwickshire college? Both good and bad reviews are wanted! I am looking for somewhere to complete an Equine degree
Thanks
I've only heard good things about Warwickshire College, own opinion is it's best college. Used to work with a girl who trained there, 10+ years ago. She knew her stuff (rode own Sect D to PN). I'm a bit out of date now, but Warwickshire is a very good name (rather than some of the newer training places, but that's a personal view - lest i get sued!!).
No doubt other forum friends will contribute, but i'm firmly on side of Warwickshire College (as it was 10 years ago)
Good luck with you career, friend, hope our comments help, BS x
I viewed it about 4 years ago and decided it wasn't for me. Nothing acctually wrong with the place - I realised that a degree in a non equine subject would be a better prospect.
i got into warwickshire to do a farriery course but health reasons stopped my taking the place, it was lovely i would have gone there. everyone was very nice but they also made you work. you can take your horse there and it doesn't get used in the college if you don't want it to, which i thouhgt was nice.
I'm currently at Warwickshire College going into my second year. I know people that are on the degrees who love them and find them some of the best equine degrees around, it just depends what you wish to do. I would however check up on courses due to some being dropped. Search for their site on google, should have some numbers etc
my duahgter has done work experience there and two taster courses as she is due to leave school in August next year and her plan is to do a degree course or similar there. If she could go now she would as she loves it!
Both my sister and I went there a long time ago and we loved it too!
Thank you so much! I think i am going to look round moreton morrell and hartpury with my parents. I hope that will help me decide. Warwickshire do the perfect course for me but overall if hartpury is a much better uni i will proberly go there.
Thanks for all your help.
Good luck, shooting_star,
Hope we've helped, but you'll know in your heart where's best for you. With my every best wish that you enjoy your training + learn as much as i did (many miles from Warwickshire!).
Sometimes i think it's best to not have pre-conceptions, just trust your own judgement, but go with the flow +listen to your heart BS X

I have had a Moreton Morrell student on placement for a year - there is an option in the BBs (Equine) to do 2 years, take a year's placement in the industry and then go back and do the final year.)
Personally I think that's a VERY good idea if you want to actually work with horses - the problem with many 'equine degree' students is that they just do NOT have enough practical experience - yet as they have a degree - they think they should be able to run a yard! She goes back to MM in a couple of weeks - although will be living out this year - and is bringing the 3 year old she backed while here with her. PM me if you'd like her e-mail address to get an up-to-date view from a student.
