As title suggests but not sure whether to go for the one with a zip of without. Any pros or cons to either? Does the zipped one rub at all.

Just about to go into the 3rd winter with mine, couldn't live without it as our fields are on clay and get very muddy in the winter. My horse is also a complete hippo when it comes to winter turnout!

i got the version with ear covers and zip - it doesn't rub at all or slip over the eyes (like some other hoods can). the only thing it does is flatten the mane but that's not much of a problem IMO
 
I have one and I do think they are excellent, mine is too big though and so I have to put a hairband round a bit between her ears, it still gets pulled over her eyes sometimes though!

I have one and I really like it. It hasn't moved at all so far so I am very pleased.

Mine has the zip, but it's worth noting that you still have to pass the shoulder part over the horses head. Just in case your horse doesn't like that kind of thing!
 
I love mine I have the zipped version. I don't turnout in it all the time anymore as we did have a bit of a drama last winter. My pony is a very warm person and must have got overheated (it was freezing at the time) - his mane came out totally in a 6" section and was bald as an egg! So this winter I will get him clean on Friday then use it all weekend when we want to ride more and take it off after the weekend. Very useful if you want to plait the night before.
 
Well my zipped turnout one didn't last one night! I found it in a heap in the middle of the field, god knows how horse had got it off as he also had a rug on over the top of it! But the zip had bust. Not sure if its a technical fault or not, Ive never got round to sending it back to Snuggyhoods to check.
 
Yes, I'd recommend the zip one as well, I love mine. I don't like the ears personally but the headpiece never moves, unlike the cheap versions. I once found my mare with the binding across her eye (on a cheap version) where it had come undone around the eye hole. Never again!!

I have one for my little mare, best thing...it's without the zip tho, she knows to put her head down for me, bend her ears back for a quick second and it's on! then i just laugh at her as it's pink with sheep on it...bless her, keeps her lovely and warm mind you as she feels the cold.
