OH has just given me his Nuumed numnah - its gross, and I stupidly agreed to wash it as his housemates have hissy fits if it goes through their machine, whereas all my horsey stuff goes through ours.

What is the best way to wash it? Its white, with a white quilted top and thick sheepskin underneath.

I washed mine on a 30degrees wash with other whites, normal detergent adn it came out a treat

OK thats fab - I just didn't want to shrink or otherwise wreck OH's precious sheepskin - Mine lump it without numnahs! lol

I may be wrong but i think it says you can't tumble dry them? I just wash on 30 with non bio then air dry, then give a good brush with a stiff brush to 'refresh' the wooly bits.

my sheepskin fell apart in the machine and blocked it up , water all ower the kitchen, best to put it in a old duvet cover thats what i do now x

You shouldnt wash wool or sheepskin with powder as it clogs the hairs and reduces its ability to absorb sweat. You should only ever use liquid wash, nuumed make one specifically for the job and it smells nice!

If its a nuumed one i doubt its sheepskin, they usually weave wool onto a cotton backing. If it is sheepskin the rub human hair conditioner in to the wool before you wash it. Either way wash on a 30 or 40 degree wool cycle

I hoover mine first takes off all loose hairs and then wash on a cold wash with non bio. Line dry and brush over with stiff brush after. Looks great have two out on the line at the moment.

it's not actual sheepskin, it's just wool on a cotton backing so i just use wool wash setting and liquid wool wash.

real sheepskin i use human hair conditioner.

I used to wash mine on 30 C with wool detergent, but have experimented and found that it comes up even cleaner on 40C with Persil non bio liquigel capsules and doesnt ruin the wool or shrink the numnah.

Wash as cool as your machine will go on a wool cycle and DONT use biological powder ( a non bio is fine)....if you can get a wool wash liquid use that. Dont use fab conditioner either.
