Washing off barrier cream?

Help!? . Horse had mild mud fever on his legs, a few days ago I put some protocon barrier cream on before a ride. I can't get it off. It's clogged up like crazy and I can't get it off, but the problem is I can't be too rough as the mud fever is still present. Driving me crazy!

How do I get it off?

Warm water lots of baby bath/shampoo. Nice and mild for the skin.

Agree wth the above suggestion. I think the key thing is the water being warm. Nothing seems to work it cold water.
I take a flask to the yard if you have no kettle!

Baby oil is good for breaking down anything with a waxy greasy texture (it is used to remove leg wax), or baby wipes!

rub the shampoo (hibscrub?) in neat before applying warm water to rinse off.

the neat soap is better at breaking down the grease.

I would say defo warm water and mild soap... it will come off eventually. Good luck!
