How do you get your lorry gleaming for shows? Am I missing a trick somewhere - chain of garages with monster lorry wash would be nice? Or do you all have eager OHs / brothers /children who rush out to clean it for you? Or is it just hard work with a hose (if you're allowed) and lots of water up your sleeves...? Thanks

Buckets of soapy water, a long handled washbrush & a hose is what you need. Oh & probably a step ladder. I find that a pressure washer doesn't take all the dirt off & if you have any suspect paint finish it will probably blast the paint off.

I seem to remember seeing a lorry wash at a service station somewhere. It was like a giant carwash where you drove in. Not at all helpful as I can't remember where, but might be worth a google to see if there's one near you?

Buckets of hot soapy water and a long handled soft brush and plenty of elbow grease, fraid your going to get wet, hence mine gets a really good wash when it's warm weather.

Have a lorry wash at work, but not sure if they would let me use it, might have to ask the question.....

I use the power washer at home and it does a reasonable job.

You could also find a commercial lorry/bus wash at your local bus depot....although i would be worried that my windows would leak, and bits get ripped off lol!

There used to be a lorry wash near me and it was very good but then it closed

Now I go to the Jet Wash at Tesco's. Its got a hot soapy wash as well so really shifts the dirt. Car Drivers not too chuffed if they're waiting to use it after me cos it takes a little while but can get it all done nice for about £5

Thank you all.....so I need to invest in a pressure washer for home, find a lorry wash or use the jet wash at the garage (ohh, never even used that for my car...and it shows! Hope some nice person might show me how if I turn up and look clueless...won't be hard!) Thanks

Most truckstops have wagon washes to get your lorry clean.

You can also purchase a long handled brush from the truckstops for about £10 and that has a hose attachment at the bottom.

Pressure washers are ok but you do need your brush to clean the trucks!

I borrowed Mum and Dads power washer when I gave Pink her 'Autumn' Clean ! I coated the lorry in some powerful truckwash stuff, then powerwashed it off.

You have to watch for it flaking paint off though.

Have fun, and expect to get very wet!
