wat is the safestriding hat

Just been looking on ENHAP website, but still cant quite figure out what the small med large crash all stand for.
Anyway,
Which is the best hat then, and I dont want a bike hat!
Ive just bought a new charles owen pro and bit disappointed to find it aint rated very well (i think)

Gatehouse HS1 - safest riding hat produced in the whole of the UK, EU and USA- a snip at £115!!!

I looked at those tests and found it a bit odd that in the same brand, a medium got 1 star and a large got 4 stars! What is medium and what is large?!
I also bought a Gatehouse HS1 and they are worth the money. I use a Charles Owen SJ XP which came out OK for shows.
