Hi all
I went to watch Becky Chapman (Ride with you Mind instructor) in Ashen Suffolk yesterday and it was really interesting. As some may know I have been looking everywhere for somewhere to ride to get me back in the saddle as I am looking to get my second horse when funds are available! (i.e when I save enough!!)
Becky is booked up solid for months but thought I would see what it was like. It is all very much on position to start with, mainly that the belly button should be pulled in and your bum should be "tent pegged" as she called it, to the saddle. The phrase "Zip your bum" was also used alot!
The riders I watched some on their own horses and some on Becky's yard horses, all said how weird it felt to start with. One girl said she felt like a chicken sat like that!
I have to admit that watching from the sidelines the horses changed dramatically in that they started to lift their back and the riders looked far more "classical" in seat.
Anyway thought I should mention that it is well worth a trip if you manage to book in that is! Becky is very funny and makes things clear to understand what would otherwise be very confusing! I am trying to book a lesson in for June/July time so will report back then!
