well just walked my course for tomorrow and am v happy with all the jumps a lovely inviting well built course. the only thing is therea re 2 water crossings no jump in, the first has a slight drop off and the second a log then a gentle slope in so i would say v nice for the novices like mine, however he is not the best so far with water, last time i went into water on a schooling day it too ages to get him in, since then i've got him into a stream nearby and hes ok about that one now but am woried as this one has a waterfall bit reight next to it gushing away and it is quite deep.
could really do with advice on what others do to conquer the water, pleaaaaasssssseeee!!!

Your not going to like the answer - but go XC schooling. Once they are happy doing water then enter a comp. Otherwise go in the pairs so that he has a lead.

yes will def go schooling and have done a couple of times with water, after he eventually gets in then alls well and hes happy to go in again, prob is he needs the run and there are only a couple more XC to do before winter, am really treating it as a schooling round rather than a comp since hes still baby and will BE next year. really just need some advice what others do when they are a bit spooky and backing off as in tactics to entiec them in

will just ahve to go in with a positive mind and hope he remembers the stream we've been in recently and that i'm really not trying to drown him!
i did wonder whether i should take him to a swim pool so that maybe if he realises he can swim he might not be as worried!
