Does anyone know where I can buy one of these? It's like a little nylon pouch with a 500ml water bottle in, with a clip to attach to the D-rings of the saddle. I recall Robinsons selling them years ago but now I can only find the big saddle panniers which is a bit overkill!

Just want a mouthful or two of water for out on long hacks, I am a thirsty person at the best of times and the hot weather is killing me at the moment.

I did think of a Camelbak but again 2l of water seems a tad excessive.

The trouble with anything clipped on to you, rather than the horse, is that if you fall it can cause pretty nasty injuries - seen the results of a mobile phone coming between the ground and a body, and it wasn't nice - caused kidney bruising.

Ooh, good ideas with the waist pouches - there's quite a few on Amazon to peruse.

I think some of the pouches could be customised with a carabiner clip as well.

Or if I get REALLY thirsty...

I wouldn't want something round my waist. Apart from the whole injuries when you fall off malarky, I tried it once and it was so uncomfortable cantering/galloping/jumping as it got in the way when I leant forward. And if I put it on my back, as such, it just swung round/bounced no matter how tight the strap was.
