Water jumps!!

I've just started doing alot more cross country on my pony, he flies over everything untill he gets too the water, then he just plants and will not go in, then we end up getting eliminated at it! any ideas on how to get him in it? He's been through a ford loads now but as soon as hes on the course he stops!

I went down to the New Forest several years back , my mare sunk in a bog and would not go near water after that. I got in on foot next to her and she gain confidence. We did how ever have one problem the first time I tried to jump her in , the result is on the how did you stay on that thread. Now we have no problems with water.

he isn't scared of it at all! as when he's in he loves it, he's just being a pig to get in!
