Hello.

I have stabling with a water supply to it but I want to extend the supply about 50-100 metres into the field I I don't have to lug water all the time.

Can anyone recommend someone to do this work (South Cheshire)

Thanks

Do you have a local machinery ring? They can be useful sources of information and contractors.

Subject to the type of your soil, you may have someone local who can mole drain the pipe in for you. If you don't know, this is a process of dragging a solid plug through the soil with a tractor. The mole plough has a single leg with a plug on the end. An alkathene pipe can be dragged through the soil using this implement by attaching it to the plug.

If you can't do that, it is a matter of getting someone to dig a trench to bury the pipe below cultivation depth. That shouldn't be expensive and a reasonably competent operator could probably do it with a mini digger. Should be plenty of people advertising for digger work on Gumtree, etc. (I can do it, so anyone can!). Doing the plumbing is like Leggo these days, so no problem there either. There were no water troughs in any of my fields when I moved here. All (12) have had troughs fitted by myself.
